Kline to Direct 'The Palace Theif'
Kevin Kline ('Wild Wild West', 'Dave', 'In & Out') is set to make is feature helming debut, 'The Palace Thief', for Fine Line Features. The movie revolves around a prep school teacher’s musings over his past 50 years and, after an unhappy reunion with a former student, his realization of how little control he’s exercised during his life.
TV's Sackheim will direct 'Glass House'
Daniel Sackheim, who has worked on such television hits as ER, Law & Order, and the unfortunately cancelled Harsh Relm, has signed to make a leap to the big screen to direct Sony's 'Glass House'. The movie is a thriller that focuses on a young woman whose parents died in a suspicious car accident.
Russel to join Costner for '3000 Miles'
Kurt Russel is set to star along side Kevin Costner in '3000 Miles to Graceland'. The film is a Las Vegas heist story focusing on a gang of ex-cons who rob a casino during Elvis convention week. Filming is expected to begin in March.
2 more 'Witch' sequels in the works!
Award-winning docu helmer Joe Berlinger, who directed the documentary “Brother’s Keeper” is set to direct “Blair Witch Project 2”. Artisan and Haxan went through a stack of different scripts and picked out the one the felt best for the first sequel. Filming of "2" is set to begin at the end of February and the original “Blair Witch” team in place to exec produce and act as hands-on consultants. It is set for a Halloween 2000 release.
'The Blair Witch Project 3', which is farther behind in production, is set to be a prequel of the first film. Filming of '3' is expected to begin in Fall of 2000, for a Summer 2001 release.
Nicholas Cage is "Family Man"
Nicolas Cage is closing in on a deal to star in "Family Man". In the film, he will play a business executive who wakes up in another life. Cage begins to wonder if he should've married his college sweetheart, then wakes up one morning to find himself living a life with that sweetheart! Cage is currently working on a car chase film called "Gone in 60 Seconds". He will most likely begin filming Family Man after 60 Seconds wraps.
Bruce Willis Losing His Mind
Bruce Willis seems to be moving away from the Action industry these days. In his latest project "Breakfast of Champions" he plays the role of Dwayne Hoover, a Midwest car dealer who loses his mind. The movie is about how that loss of sanity affects Dwayne and those around him.
Another Piece for Jason Briggs
Jason Biggs, star of American Pie, will be alongside Freddy Prinze Jr. in his next project "Boys and Girls". The film is a romantic comedy about a college man (Prinze) whose friendship with a girl is strained. Biggs will play the womanizing comedy relief.
More Matrix for Keanu
Reportedly, Keanu Reeves is signed to do two more sequels to "The Matrix". The movies are planned to be shot one after another and may be released withen months of each other. Expect more action and dazzling effects from Larry and Andy Wachowski (co-writers and directors of The Matrix)!
