Deep Blue Sea
Universal Pictures
Cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, LL Cool J, Michael Rapaport
Director: Renny Harlin
MPAA Rating: R (for graphic shark attacks and for language)
Deep Blue Sea is an exciting, fast-moving action adventure that takes place on a deep-sea shark research station. The crew of researchers are trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease and are using shark brain tissue to create a drug that can do that. But, when they demonstrate the procedure to the head of the corporation (Samuel L. Jackson) during a raging tropical storm, all hell breaks loose.
Soon, the research station is sinking and the sharks are making victims of the trapped crew one-by-one.
The movie is very fun, the best creature-in-the-water movie since Spielburg's Jaws. It keeps us guessing up until the very end as the crew tries to avoid the smart sharks and escape the sinking research station. The only problem that I came across was the use of the computer animated sharks which did indeed look "animated". If the filmmakers had used robotic sharks rather than relying on CGI, I would have been completly satisfied.

A: IT was so good..really exciting and great special effects. There was an interesting plot and at least it was an original idea.
