The Matrix fed all of my action cravings and desires and flooded my senses with an effects filled martial arts mega-hit. This is the best movie I have ever seen. It starts with an explosive first fifteen minutes that leaves us on the edge of our seats and sets us up for the rest of the action. The story focuses on a man named Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves) who is a well-known hacker by the name of Neo.
Through the movie Neo finds the the whole world around him is actually a virtual reality that everyone is living in. The plot is very twisting and involves a goup of people lead by Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) that know the truth about the Matrix and know want to free humanity. They begin to train Neo because they believe that he is "the one", and can defeat the machines that are enslaving the humans.
The movie is filled with amazing Hong Kong style fighting sequences that I haven't ever seen in American movies. The action leaves us gripping our seats the whole time as Neo and the others must fight off evil agents that look like Men in Black in the world of the Matrix. The hand to hand combat scenes are amazing and the huge gun battles leave us breathless. If you see one movie at the theater this summer, see The Matrix!
