The Skulls
Universal Pictures
Cast: Joshua Jackson, Paul Walker, Hill Harper, Leslie Bibb
Director: Rob Cohen
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for violence and brief sexuality)
Dawson's Creek pretty boy Joshua Jackson stars as Luke McNamara, an Ivy League college boy who rides a bike, has no money, and works in a cafeteria. But all those things are about to change when Luke is called to become a member of an elite secret society called The Skulls. The Skulls is an ancient cult that molds it's members into successful, powerful members of society. When you're a Skull, every one of your wildest fantasies comes true... for a price.
One of Luke's best friends is found hanged after committing suicide. Luke begins to wonder, Was it really suicide? The Skulls put pressure on Luke to end his curiosity about Will's death. So Luke enlists the help of a group of friends to discover the secret behind Will's death, but what he finds forces him to run from the Skulls and law in a cat and mouse chase where no one is who they say they are.
The Skulls was an original twist on the teen thriller genre that kept me waiting for each new spark of action. A series of clever twists and an excellent cast of rising stars makes Skulls worthy of a Friday night in the movie theatre. For anyone seeking a few good thrills, The Skulls is not too shabby.
